The bracket is designed for top railings that are two-by-four to two-by-six inches, laid flat. The long arm of the bracket fits into the slotted section. The slide will adjust to fit top rails from two-by-four to two-by-six inches. No tools are needed to install the brackets. Each pair of brackets has been designed to support approximately 36 lbs. For heavier planters, install additional brackets. (Use one additional bracket for each additional 18 lbs. of weight.) It is suggested that you secure flower boxes to the inside of a deck or balcony railing to avoid injury from falling objects. Complete instructions are found on each bracket package. Novelty brackets are made of rust-free aluminum with a black powder coating finish.
